Map Marker Planchettes

I see the map marker icon we’ve become accustom to interacting with on digital platforms as a type of planchette, similar to those used with Ouija boards. The difference being that map markers locate us on the Earth. What brings us to the locations we inhabit? Map Markers are the shorthand for the story of our journeys.
