Copper Salt Spoon with Eight-pointed Star

Stamped on the handle is the Eight-pointed star. The symbol is a Slavic “obereg”, or talisman. They have been embroidered into garments and cloth since pre-Christian times. These geometric symbols are considered the oldest and most powerful. Each was believed to carry a specific power to protect the wearer from harm, illness, or evil spirits, and to attract health, fertility, and good fortune.

The eight-pointed stars can represent fire and the stars themselves, as well as a structured universe.

The spoon measures 2.50″ x .75″ x .50″ and is formed from heavy 3mm thick copper.
